Assignment - Drawing with Flip-Flops
Course: Advanced Drawing
Duration: 3 sessions
This assignment uses the flip-flop, an everyday, accessible object as a bridge between object drawing and figure drawing. By studying the flip-flop in isolation and then in relation to the human body, you will develop sharper observational skills, strengthen up your sense of form and foreshortening, and cultivate greater spatial awareness in your figure drawings. The flip-flop acts as a simple yet structurally complex prop – it conforms to the foot, establishes contact with the ground plane, and creates a set of forms and contours that challenge accuracy and analytical observation.
